Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player secured his initial trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time trainer Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to get a title is particularly special," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.
The player's retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first professional victory, gained dominance to create a decider.
The opponent defended 4 initial break points in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
